Learning Objectives: The course introduces the fundamentals of operating systems design and implementation. Topics include an overview of the components of an operating system, concurrency, mutual exclusion and synchronization, implementation of processes, deadlock, scheduling algorithms, memory management, I/O and file systems, and protection and security.
