ENGL W002 - Writing Workshop Intermediate |
The Intermediate English Writing Workshop course if the second of a two‐level courses aiming at
developing learners’ writing skills. The course uses appropriate textbooks and supplementary
materials to guide the teaching and learning processes. This intermediate level course focuses on
comparison & contrast, division & classification, cause and/or effect, and problem‐solution
genres. During the course, model texts will be analyzed for structure and students will learn to
produce such genres in line with the process approach to writing. Classes utilize activities and
tasks designed to teach established writing modes and facilitate the acquisition of grammar and
vocabulary required for the successful completion of the relevant genres. The assessments for the
course will include portfolio essays, a common mid‐term and final exam.
